حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، يَقُولُ: " لَقَدْ رَدَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ التَّبَتُّلَ "، وَلَوْ أَذِنَ لَهُ فِيهِ لاخْتَصَيْنَا (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Sa"eed bin al-Musayyab said:
I heard Sa"d bin Abi Waqqas say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) refused to let "Uthman be celibate. if he had allowed him, we would have gotten castrated.
