Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ،، ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ الْحُمَّى فَوْرٌ من فَوْرِ (١) جَهَنَّمَ، فَابْرُدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Fever is a result of the heat of Hell, so cool it with water."
