حَدِيثُ هُبَيْبِ بْنِ مُغْفِلٍ (١) الْغِفَارِيِّ (٢)، * ١٥٦٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ يَعْنِي عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ وَهْبٍ الْمِصْرِيَّ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَسْلَمَ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ هُبَيْبِ بْنِ مُغْفِلٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى مُحَمَّدًا الْقُرَشِيَّ (٣) قَامَ يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ هُبَيْبٌ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ وَطِئَهُ خُيَلَاءَ وَطِئَهُ فِي النَّارِ " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
Habib bin Mughaffal saw a man named Muhammad Quraishi dragging his lower garment while walking. Habib, upon seeing him, said: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: Whoever drags his lower garment on the ground out of arrogance, Allah will drag him in Hellfire on the Day of Judgment.
