Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الشُّعَيْثِيُّ، عَنْ زُفَرَ بْنِ وَثِيمَةَ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، قَالَ: " الْمَسَاجِدُ لَا تُنْشَدُ فِيهَا الْأَشْعَارُ، وَلَا تُقَامُ فِيهَا الْحُدُودُ، وَلَا يُسْتَقَادُ فِيهَا " قَالَ أَبِي: " لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ، يَعْنِي حَجَّاجٌ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hakeem bin Hizam that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Poetry should not be recited in mosques, punishments should not be carried out in them, nor should retaliation (qisas) be taken in them.
