قُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ، سَمِعْتُ هِشَامًا، (١) عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، قَالَ: أَعْتَقْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَرْبَعِينَ مُحَرَّرًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَسْلَمْتَ عَلَى مَا سَبَقَ لَكَ مِنْ خَيْرٍ " (٢)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Hakim bin Hizam that I had freed forty slaves during the time of ignorance. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: You have become a Muslim along with all the good deeds you did before (you will surely receive the reward for them).
