حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، وَسَمِعْتُ أَنَا مِنْ ابْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ (١) بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ضَمُرَةَ الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي سَلِيطٍ - وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا - قَالَ: " أَتَانَا نَهْيُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ، وَنَحْنُ بِخَيْبَرَ، فَكَفَأْنَاهَا، وَإِنَّا لَجِيَاعٌ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Salit that a message containing the prohibition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) reached us, stating that domesticated donkeys should not be eaten. At that time we were hungry, but even then we turned them over on their faces.
