Translation

English translation

Muhammad bin Hatib’s mother, Umm Jameel, says: Once I was bringing you from the land of Abyssinia, and when I was one or two nights’ distance from Madinah Munawwarah, I began to cook food for you. Meanwhile, the firewood ran out, so I went out in search of wood. You overturned the pot onto your hand, and it fell over onto your arm. I took you to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, this is Muhammad bin Hatib. The Prophet (ﷺ) put his blessed saliva in your mouth, passed his hand over your head, and prayed for blessing for you. The Prophet (ﷺ) kept putting his blessed saliva on your hand and kept saying: O Lord of the people, remove this pain and grant healing, for You are the only Healer, there is no healing except Your healing, grant such a healing that leaves no trace of illness. I had not even gotten up from the Prophet’s (ﷺ) presence when your hand was healed.
