Original Arabic
حَدِيثُ إِيَاسِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ (١) النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ١٥٤٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّ أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ إِيَاسَ بْنَ عَبْدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: لَا تَبِيعُوا فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ، " فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَاءِ " قَالَ: وَالنَّاسُ يَبِيعُونَ مَاءَ الْفُرَاتِ فَنَهَاهُمْ (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Iyas bin Abd that do not sell water in excess of need, for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade selling water. In fact, in those times people had started selling the water of the Euphrates River, so he forbade it.
