حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَاعِزٍ الْعَامِرِيِّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الثَّقَفِيِّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، حَدِّثْنِي بِأَمْرٍ أَعْتَصِمُ بِهِ، قَالَ: " قُلْ: رَبِّيَ اللهُ، ثُمَّ اسْتَقِمْ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا أَكْبَرُ مَا تَخَافُ عَلَيَّ؟ قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلِسَانِ نَفْسِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " هَذَا " قَالَ يَزِيدُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: " بِطَرْفِ لِسَانِ نَفْسِهِ " (١)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Sufyan bin Abdullah that I once submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me something about Islam such that after you, I would not need to ask anyone else anything. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: First, declare with your tongue that I have believed in Allah, then remain steadfast upon it always. I asked: O Messenger of Allah! From what should I guard myself? The Prophet (peace be upon him) pointed towards his tongue.
