Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Safwan bin Umayyah that on the day of the Battle of Hunayn, the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him for some armors as a loan. At that time, Safwan had not yet become a Muslim. He asked, "O Muhammad, are you taking them with the intention of seizing them?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "No, with the intention of borrowing, for which I am responsible." By chance, some of those armors were lost. The Prophet (peace be upon him) offered him compensation for the loss, but he said, "O Messenger of Allah! Today I feel a greater inclination towards Islam."
