Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: فَأَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، قَالَ: " لَقَدْ رَدَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ التَّبَتُّلَ وَلَوْ أحَلَّهُ لَاخْتَصَيْنَا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) refused to let ‘Uthman be celibate. If he had allowed him, we would have gotten castrated.
