Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " سَيَخْرُجُ أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ ثُمَّ لَا يَعْبَرُ بِهَا - أَوْ لَا يَعْبُرُ بِهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ - ثُمَّ تَمْتَلِئُ وَتُبْنَى، ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنْهَا فَلا يَعُودُونَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا " (٤) .،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Jabir that Umar bin al-Khattab رضي الله عنه told him that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
` The people of Makkah will leave and no one will come to it-or no one will come to it except a few-then it will be filled and built up, then they will leave it and never return to it.`
