Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَجَدَ تَمْرَةً، فَقَالَ: " لَوْلَا أَنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ تَكُونَ صَدَقَةً لَأَكَلْتُهَا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) found a date lying on the road at one place. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If it were not from charity, I would have eaten it."
