حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا، وَنَقَشَ فِيهِ نَقْشًا، فَقَالَ: " إِنِّي اتَّخَذْتُ خَاتَمًا، وَنَقَشْتُ فِيهِ نَقْشًا، فَلَا يَنْقُشْ أَحَدٌ عَلَى نَقْشِهِ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) had a ring made for himself and said: We have had a ring made and have engraved an inscription (Muhammad Rasul Allah) on it, therefore no one should engrave this inscription on his ring.
