Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Uhud, Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) was standing in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) shooting arrows, and the Prophet (ﷺ) was standing behind him, taking him as a shield. He was an excellent archer. When he would shoot an arrow, the Prophet (ﷺ) would look to see where the arrow had fallen. Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) would raise his chest and say, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! May my parents be sacrificed for you, let no arrow strike you; my chest is before your chest." And he would put himself in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) and say, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! My body is strong, send me for your work and command me as you wish."
