Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Hunayn, Umm Sulaim (may Allah be pleased with her) was with Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him). Umm Sulaim (may Allah be pleased with her) had a dagger with her. Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) asked her, "What is this that you have with you?" She replied, "I have kept this with me so that if any polytheist comes near me, I will rip open his belly with it." Hearing this, he said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Just see what Umm Sulaim is saying." Umm Sulaim (may Allah be pleased with her) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Those people who deserted you and fled, i.e., the Tulaqa, have them killed." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Umm Sulaim! Allah has sufficed us and done so excellently."
