حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْقَنَّادُ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ: " يَقُولُ: رَبُّكُمْ إِذَا تَلَقَّانِي عَبْدِي شِبْرًا، تَلَقَّيْتُهُ ذِرَاعًا، وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي ذِرَاعًا، تَلَقَّيْتُهُ بَاعًا، وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي يَمْشِي، تَلَقَّيْتُهُ أُهَرْوِلُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah Almighty says, "If My servant comes near to Me by a span, I come near to him by a cubit; and if he comes near to Me by a cubit, I come near to him by a fathom; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running."
