حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ السُّلَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَخَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ، فَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ {بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} [الفاتحة: ١] "، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: " فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ: أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، نَحْنُ سَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْهُ " (٢)، •
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have offered prayer with the Prophet (ﷺ) and with the three Caliphs; these personalities would not begin their recitation with "Bismillah."
