Original Arabic

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَجْتَمِعْ لَهُ غَدَاءٌ، وَلَا، ، عَشَاءٌ مِنْ خُبْزٍ وَلَحْمٍ، إِلَّا عَلَى ضَفَفٍ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that bread and meat were never combined for the Prophet (ﷺ) for lunch and dinner on any day, except when a guest happened to arrive.
