حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: " أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ لِلْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لِي حَاجَةٌ، فَقَامَ يُنَاجِيهِ حَتَّى نَعَسَ الْقَوْمُ، أَوْ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ وُضُوءًا " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the time for Isha prayer had come, a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! I have a task with you." The Prophet (ﷺ) began to converse with him alone in the mosque until the people fell asleep. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) led the prayer, and the narrator did not mention ablution.
