حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ثُمَامَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ فَخَفَّفَ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ فَأَطَالَ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ (١) فَخَفَّفَ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَأَطَالَ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ، قَالُوا: جِئْنَاكَ الْبَارِحَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَصَلَّيْتَ بِنَا فَخَفَّفْتَ، ثُمَّ دَخَلْتَ بَيْتَكَ فَأَطَلْتَ، فَقَالَ: " إِنِّي فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ "، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ، وَكَانَ حَدَّثَنَا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ، فَلَقِيتُ ثُمَامَةَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once during the month of Ramadan, the Prophet (ﷺ) came out and led a short prayer and then left. After quite some time, he came again and led a short prayer and then went back again and stayed inside for a long time. When morning came, we said, "O Messenger of Allah! We were sitting here tonight, you came and led a short prayer and then went home for a long time?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It was because of you that I did so."
