حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ} [آل عمران: ٩٢] أَوْ {مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يُقْرِضُ اللهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا} [البقرة: ٢٤٥] قَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ: وَكَانَ لَهُ حَائِطٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، حَائِطِي لِلَّهِ، وَلَوِ اسْتَطَعْتُ أَنْ أُسِرَّهُ لَمْ أُعْلِنْهُ، (١) فَقَالَ: " اجْعَلْهُ فِي قَرَابَتِكَ " أَوْ " أَقْرَبِيكَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed: "You cannot attain the highest level of righteousness until you spend from that which you love," and this verse: "Who is it that will lend Allah a goodly loan," Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! My such-and-such garden which is at such-and-such place, I give it in the name of Allah, and by God! If it were possible for me to keep it hidden, I would never let anyone find out about it." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Distribute it among the poor of your family."
