حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " صَوْتُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فِي الْجَيْشِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فِئَةٍ "، قَالَ: وَكَانَ يَجْثُو بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الْحَرْبِ، ثُمَّ يَنْثُرُ كِنَانَتَهُ، وَيَقُولُ: وَجْهِي لِوَجْهِكَ الْوِقَاءُ وَنَفْسِي لِنَفْسِكَ الْفِدَاءُ (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: In the army, the voice of Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) is better than that of many people. Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) would stand as a shield in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) at the time of battle, and while shaking his quiver, he would say: My face is a protection for your face, and my self is sacrificed for your self.
