Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَمُرُّ بِالتَّمْرَةِ، فَمَا يَمْنَعُهُ مِنْ أَخْذِهَا إِلَّا مَخَافَةُ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنْ صَدَقَةٍ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) would find a date lying on the road, and if he did not fear that it might be from charity, he would eat it.
