حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنِ اذْنَبَ فِي الدُّنْيَا ذَنْبًا فَعُوقِبَ بِهِ، فَاللهُ أَعْدَلُ مِنْ أَنْ يُثَنِّيَ عُقُوبَتَهُ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ، وَمَنِ اذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا فِي الدُّنْيَا فَسَتَرَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَعَفَا عَنْهُ فَاللهُ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي شَيْءٍ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْهُ " (٢)، •
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, Allah is too just to repeat His punishment for His slave, And whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals it for him and pardons him, Allah is too kind to retract any pardon that He has granted.`
