حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زُرَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أُهْدِيَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَغْلَةٌ فَرَكِبَهَا، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ: لَوِ اتَّخَذْنَا مِثْلَ هَذَا، قَالَ: " أَتُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تُنْزُوا الْحَمِيرَ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ؟ إِنَّمَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ " (٢)، •
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) said:
A mule was given to the Prophet (ﷺ) as a gift. Some of his Companions said: Why don`t we get animals like this? He said: `Do you want to mate a donkey with a mare? That is only done by those who do not know.”
