Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was sitting in a gathering with the Prophet (ﷺ), and a man stood up and started praying. After bowing and prostrating, when he sat in the Tashahhud, he recited this supplication: I ask You, for all praise is for You alone, there is no deity except You, You are the Most Gracious, the Originator of the heavens and the earth without any precedent, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I ask You." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "You have supplicated to Allah with His Greatest Name; when He is supplicated by it, He surely answers, and when He is asked by it, He surely gives."
