Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ " تَوَضَّأَ فَأَنْقَى كَفَّيْهِ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلاثًا وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ثَلاثًا، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ قَدَمَيْهِ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَشَرِبَ فَضْلَ وَضُوئِهِ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُرِيَكُمْ طُهُورَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " (١)، •
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Abu Hayyah said:
I saw ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) do wudoo’. He washed his hands thoroughly, then he washed his face three times and his forearms three times; then he wiped his head, then he washed his feet up to the ankles, Then he stood up and drank the leftover wudoo’ water. Then he said: I wanted to show you the wudoo’ of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) .
