Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a person is buried and his companions leave, the deceased hears the sound of their footsteps. Then two angels come and make him sit up and ask him about the Prophet (ﷺ): "What do you know about this man?" If he is a believer, he says: "I bear witness that Muhammad (ﷺ) is the servant of Allah and His Messenger." Then a door to Hell is opened for him and it is said to him: "If you had disbelieved in your Lord, this would have been your abode. But since you believed in Him, your abode is another place." Thus, he sees both places.
