حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ (٢) بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: " مَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَوْمِ فِطْرٍ قَطُّ، حَتَّى يَأْكُلَ تَمَرَاتٍ " قَالَ: " وَكَانَ أَنَسٌ يَأْكُلُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ ثَلَاثًا، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَزْدَادَ أَكَلَ خَمْسًا، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَزْدَادَ أَكَلَ وِتْرًا " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Eid al-Fitr, the Prophet (ﷺ) would not go out towards the Eidgah until he had eaten some dates one by one. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) would also eat three, five, or, if more, an odd number of dates before going out.
