English translation
Zaid bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we offered the Zuhr prayer with Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him). After the prayer, we set out to inquire about Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) because he had fallen ill. When we reached his house, we greeted him with salam. He asked, "Have you offered the prayer?" We replied in the affirmative. He asked his maid to bring water for ablution and said, "After the Prophet (ﷺ), I have not seen anyone whose prayer resembles his more than your Imam." In fact, Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) used to complete the bowing (ruku) and prostration (sajdah), but he would keep the sitting (jalsah) and standing (qiyam) brief.
