حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى، وَهَاشِمٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ، فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي، فَيَأْتِي الْعَوَالِيَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform the Asr prayer at such a time that if someone wanted to go to Awali after the prayer, he would go and return, and still the sun would be high.
