حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، وَحُسَيْنٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " لَمْ يَبْلُغْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الشَّيْبِ مَا يَخْضِبُهُ، وَلَكِنْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَدْ كَانَ يَخْضِبُ رَأْسَهُ وَلِحْيَتَهُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ "، قَالَ هَاشِمٌ: " حَتَّى يَقْنُوا شَعْرَهُمْ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there were not so many white hairs in the blessed beard of the Prophet (ﷺ) that would require dyeing, however, Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to apply henna and katam dye to his head and beard.
