Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) was returning from Hudaybiyyah, signs of grief and distress were visible on the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) because they had been prevented from performing Umrah and had to sacrifice their animals at Hudaybiyyah itself. At that moment, this verse was revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ): "Indeed, We have given you a clear conquest... a straight path." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Two verses have been revealed to me which are more beloved to me than the whole world." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) recited them. Upon hearing this, a Muslim said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Congratulations to you, for Allah has granted you this bounty. What is there for us?" Upon this, the following verse was revealed: "That He may admit the believing men and believing women to gardens... a great success."
