حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا: ابْعَثْ مَعَنَا رَجُلًا يُعَلِّمُنَا كِتَابَ رَبِّنَا وَالسُّنَّةَ، قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَ: " هَذَا أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the people of Yemen came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ), they requested the Prophet (ﷺ) to send a man with them who would teach them the religion. The Prophet (ﷺ) sent Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) with them and said, "He is the trustworthy one of this Ummah."
