حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ - مَدِينِيٌّ - قَالَ: دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ، قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُمْ يَعْنِي - الْعَصْرَ -؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قُلْنَا أَخْبِرْنَا أَصْلَحَكَ اللهُ، مَتَى كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ: " كَانَ يُصَلِّيهَا وَالشَّمْسُ بَيْضَاءُ نَقِيَّةٌ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
Abdur Rahman bin Wardan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we went with a delegation of the people of Madinah to the service of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). He asked, "Have you people performed the Asr prayer?" We replied in the affirmative and asked, "Please tell us—may Allah treat you well—when did the Prophet (ﷺ) use to perform this prayer?" He replied, "The Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform this prayer when the sun was bright and clear."
