Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a man from among the people of Paradise will be brought, and Allah Almighty will ask him, "O son of Adam! How did you find your abode?" He will reply, "O Lord! I found the best abode." Allah Almighty will say, "Ask and express your wish." He will submit, "My request and wish is only that You send me back to the world and I may be martyred in Your path ten times over," because he will have seen the virtue of martyrdom. A person from among the people of Hell will be brought, and Allah will ask him, "O son of Adam! How did you find your abode?" He will say, "O Lord! The worst abode." Allah will say, "If you had everything on the face of the earth, would you give it all as ransom?" He will say, "Yes!" Allah will say, "You are lying. I had asked you for something much lighter than this in the world, but you did not fulfill it." Thus, he will be returned to Hell.
