Translation
English translation
Humaid says that a person asked Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) whether the Prophet (ﷺ) used to apply dye. He replied that there were only seventeen or twenty white hairs in the front part of the blessed beard of the Prophet (ﷺ), and old age did not bring any defect upon him. Someone asked, "Is old age a defect?" He replied, "Each one of you considers it undesirable." However, Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) used to apply a dye of henna and katam, while Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used only henna as dye.
