حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ السَّدُوسِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَحَدُنَا يَلْقَى صَدِيقَهُ أَيَنْحَنِي لَهُ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا ". قَالَ: فَيَلْتَزِمُهُ وَيُقَبِّلُهُ؟ قَالَ: " لَا ". قَالَ: فَيُصَافِحُهُ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ إِنْ شَاءَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man submitted in the court of the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! When one of us meets his friend, can he meet him by bowing down?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No." The questioner asked, "Can he embrace him and kiss him?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No." The questioner asked, "Can he shake hands with him?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Yes! If he wishes, he can shake hands."
