Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " يَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي اخْتِلَافٌ، ، وَفُرْقَةٌ، يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمْ قَوْمٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ، لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، سِيمَاهُمُ الْحَلْقُ وَالتَّسْبِيتُ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمْ فَأَنِيمُوهُمْ " (١) التَّسْبِيتُ يَعْنِي: اسْتِئْصَالَ الشَّعْرِ الْقَصِيرِ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Soon there will be discord and division in my Ummah, and a group will emerge among them who will recite the Qur'an but it will not go beyond their throats. Their distinguishing mark will be shaving and uprooting short hair from the roots. Whenever you see them, kill them.
