Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَمُرُّ بِالتَّمْرَةِ، فَمَا يَمْنَعُهُ مِنْ أَخْذِهَا، إِلَّا مَخَافَةُ أَنْ تَكُونَ صَدَقَةً " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) would find a date lying on the road, and if he did not fear that it might be from charity, he would eat it.
