حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ: هَلْ اتَّخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، أَخَّرَ لَيْلَةً، ، صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ إِلَى قَرِيبٍ مِنْ شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ: " النَّاسُ قَدْ صَلَّوْا وَنَامُوا، وَلَمْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُوهَا ". قَالَ أَنَسٌ: كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ الْآنَ إِلَى وَبِيصِ خَاتَمِهِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
Humaid says that a person asked Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) whether the Prophet (ﷺ) had a ring made. He replied, "Yes! Once the Prophet (ﷺ) delayed the Isha prayer until midnight, and after the prayer he turned towards us and said, 'People have prayed and gone to sleep, but as long as you waited for the prayer, you were counted as being in prayer.' At that time, the whiteness of the Prophet's (ﷺ) ring is still before my eyes."
