Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, when Allah granted the spoils of Banu Hawazin to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) began giving one hundred camels each to Uyaina, Aqra’, and others, some of the Ansar said, "May Allah forgive the Prophet (peace be upon him); he is giving to the Quraysh and ignoring us, while the drops of blood are still dripping from our swords." When the Prophet (peace be upon him) learned of this, he called the Ansari companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and said, "Are you not pleased that people go away with wealth and property, and you return home with the Messenger of Allah?" They replied, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)!" Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace be upon him), if people were to walk in one valley and the Ansar in another, I would choose the valley and mountain pass of the Ansar. The Ansar are my shield, and if there had been no migration, I would have been one of the Ansar."
