Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَتَّابٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: " بَايَعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ، فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ) on the condition of listening and obeying, and the Prophet (ﷺ) added the restriction of "as much as you are able."
