Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَخَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ فَكَانُوا لَا يَجْهَرُونَ: بِـ {بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} [الفاتحة: ١] " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have offered prayer with the Prophet (ﷺ) and with the three Caliphs; these personalities did not recite "Bismillah" aloud.
