حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَعْنِي الْأَنْصَارِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ: {لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ} [آل عمران: ٩٢] أَوْ قَالَ: {مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يُقْرِضُ اللهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا} [البقرة: ٢٤٥] جَاءَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، حَائِطِي الَّذِي بِمَكَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَلَوِ اسْتَطَعْتُ (١) أَنْ أُسِرَّهُ لَمْ أُعْلِنْهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اجْعَلْهُ فِي فُقَرَاءِ قَرَابَتِكَ - أَوْ قَالَ: فِي فُقَرَاءِ أَهْلِكَ - " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed: "You cannot attain the highest level of righteousness until you spend from that which you love," and the verse: "Who is it that will lend Allah a goodly loan," Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! My such-and-such garden which is at such-and-such place, I give it in the name of Allah, and by Allah! If it were possible for me to keep it hidden, I would never let it be known." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Distribute it among the poor of your family."
