حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: " مَا أَوْلَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ أَكْثَرَ - أَوْ أَفْضَلَ - مِمَّا أَوْلَمَ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ " فَقَالَ ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ: فَمَا أَوْلَمَ؟ قَالَ: " أَطْعَمَهُمْ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا حَتَّى تَرَكُوهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) gave a wedding feast on the occasion of Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her), and he did not give a better wedding feast on the occasion of marrying any of his other wives than this. Thabit Banani (may Allah have mercy on him) asked Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "What did the Prophet (ﷺ) serve at the wedding feast?" He replied, "The Prophet (ﷺ) served them bread and meat, and he served so much that the people themselves stopped eating."
