حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ: أَنَّ أُمَّهُ حِينَ وَلَدَتْ، انْطَلَقُوا بِالصَّبِيِّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، لِيُحَنِّكَهُ قَالَ: " فَإِذَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مِرْبَدٍ يَسِمُ غَنَمًا " قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: " وَأَكْبَرُ عِلْمِي أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي آذَانِهَا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I brought a child—who was born at my mother's place—to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ), and saw that the Prophet (ﷺ) was branding the ears of goats in the enclosure.
