English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, when Allah granted the spoils of Banu Hawazin to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) began giving one hundred camels each to every man of the Quraysh, some of the Ansar said, "May Allah forgive the Prophet (peace be upon him), he is giving to the Quraysh and ignoring us, while the drops of blood are still dripping from our swords." When the Prophet (peace be upon him) learned of this, he called the Ansari companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and gathered them in a tent made of leather, and did not allow anyone else to enter. When they had all gathered, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came and said, "What are these things I have heard about you?" They replied that it was true and they had not lied. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Are you not pleased that people go away with wealth and property, and you return to your homes with the Messenger of Allah? If all the people were to walk in one valley or mountain pass, and the Ansar in another, I would choose the valley and mountain pass of the Ansar."
