حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: كَانَ لِلمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ رُمْحٌ، فَكُنَّا إِذَا خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزَاةٍ خَرَجَ بِهِ مَعَهُ، فَيَرْكُزُهُ فَيَمُرُّ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ فَيَحْمِلُونَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: لَئِنْ أتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَأخْبِرَنَّهُ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّكَ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ لَمْ تَرْفَعْ ضَالَّةً " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
Al-Mugheerah bin Shu`bah had a spear, and when we went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on a campaign, he would take it with him and stick it in the ground. And the people would pass by him and give him a ride. I said: When I go to the Prophet (ﷺ) I will tell him. He said: If you do that, no one will pick up a lost item.
